If there is one thing I can tell you about Looe, its that it is the friendliest and most enjoyable place I have ever had the pleasure of calling home. I am lucky enough to have a great job, working for a company which treats me well, where I get to meet with a variety of different people throughout the year. For anyone looking around the country looking for a place to find a job or a place to do some seasonal work, Looe is a great place to investigate.

Whether you are interested in pharmacy jobs or holiday jobs, Looe is an ideal place to live and work. During the warm and pleasant summer months, it feels like you are living on holiday sometimes. There is a real party atmosphere in the nights, and during the daytime there are plenty of things to keep you entertained, such as a trip to the beach, or a boat ride up the river. As long as you can find a job that you enjoy, the world is your oyster, whatever that means! What I am trying to say is that living and working in such a great place really does make life so much more enjoyable. Even work seems more fun when you know that when you have finished you can go down to the beach and relax or go for a swim.

Living in Looe has changed my life, as I thrive on meeting new people and having a fun time outside of work. If you are not interested in moving here, but simply wish to come on holiday, then I would have to say…what an excellent choice of location. I love this part on England, and there are so many different places to see, activities to do and views to enjoy that you will never feel like you made the wrong choice. It is a relatively quiet place compared with the larger cities, which is ideal. There are large cities close enough to here that you can always pop there for some shopping or a night out if you want to, but for the rest of the time you can relax and enjoy the tranquil English coastline. Many young families seem to enjoy holidays here as it is a safe and fun environment for children to be in, with enough to keep them entertained, but no too much so that they are always spending your hard earned money on things!

It is surprising how many guests continue to steal stuff from hotels simply because they feel that they can get away with it. The truth is that stealing stuff from hotels is never a smart move. There was a time when you could provide false information to the desk and get away with the stuff that you have taken. On the other hand, it will be virtually impossible for you to hide your identity if you have paid for the accommodation using your credit card.

Remember, they invariably give themselves a grace period of 2 to 3 weeks where they can file any charge on your credit card if they deem fit. This is a part and parcel of the standard terms and conditions that no guest ever bothers to read. In such a scenario, a hotel which suspects that you have stolen stuff from them will simply get the cost and the penalty to your credit card bill. You have the option of filing a legal complaint and initiating a dispute.

However, the onus will be upon you to do so. In the past, the onus was up on the hotel to convince you to shell out the money. Today, they will simply take the money away and you will be the person who would have to run behind them demanding the money back. Of course, the negative publicity that you will have to suffer is an added disadvantage. I have seen that two and three-star hotels do not hesitate to initiate such an action even if it results in negative publicity for the hotels.

They operate on small margins and just do not have the option of absorbing such losses. Just as you stay away from red diesel for your standard diesel vehicle because of the risks involved if you get caught, you should stay away from the habit and the tendency of stealing stuff from the hotel you are staying in. It just is not worth the risk.

Visitors to Looe have a tendency to think of the town as a quaint throwback to what England used to be like. A quick photo tour of both East and West Looe shows that there is far more going on then just tea and scones. As the town is situated at the mouth of the river, it has a lot to do for the more adventurous tourist. Most recently a mixture of visitors and residents took part in the Hannafore to Looe Island crossing.

The crossing begins at Hannafore on the mainland and takes around thirty minutes depending on your walking speed. Dawdlers beware though! The tide has a tendency to sneak up on you at the last moment so stopping to admire the views is not recommended. Visitors are advised to wear waterproof footwear and either shorts or trousers that won’t retain moisture. The seaweed littering the way can be tricky to navigate so it is advised that no one attempts this crossing alone.

The walk to the Island can be slippery and there have been accidents in the past due to carelessness and a lack of knowledge. Most of these have involved visitors from abroad. There are plenty of guides available in town to assist tourists so pop into the information centre before travelling out to Hannafore. It is this crossing and several other activities that make it advisable for foreign tourists to consider good travel insurance before visiting. There are many policies available to suit any visitor, but be sure to do your research thoroughly before coming.

In addition to the Hannafore crossing, it is also possible to indulge in some sailing and racing. The Looe Sailing Club is located on Buller Street, East Looe. They offer sailing lessons and boat trips for reasonable prices and are very welcoming. Every Thursday evening, visitors can watch the yacht racing that takes place. Non members are not usually allowed to take part in the races themselves, but considering the way some sailors race it is probably a good thing. The club’s objectives are to encourage yacht building and sailing by amateurs as well as to encourage participation in regattas and races. It is well worth a visit but also another reason to ensue your travel insurance is in place when coming from overseas!

Overall Looe has a lot to offer both the casual and adventurous tourist. Wander about the quiet town in East Looe or discover the vibrant (and louder) side of town in West Looe. Hike around the town and enjoy panoramic views of the bay and then head back to one of the many local pubs for a cool refreshing drink. The things a visitor can see and do proves that Looe isn’t just a picture postcard memory. Just remember your insurance!

Working in a hotel helps me understand how temporary life is. We all make a big deal about our lives and pretend as if long term planning is very important. However, what we fail to understand is that long term planning is not even the time span of a second when you view it from the real perspective.

The hotel which I work in is situated close to numerous reputed art clubs. Hence, we often have group bookings from individuals and Associations interested in art. In such a scenario, the hotel is full of people for a short period of time before becoming empty again. The funny thing is that each and every person who occupies a room behaves as if it belongs to him or her. People are very particular about the facilities and amenities in the room. They feel that they deserve the best because they paid for it.

What they fail to understand is that the possession of the room is completely transitory. What belongs to them today belonged to somebody else in the past. When they move out, somebody else will walk in and occupy the room all over again.

This may sound a bit too philosophical for some but it certainly does help me manage the boredom and the fact that there is nothing stable or permanent in my job. Keep this in mind and you will probably find yourself behaving in a sympathetic manner to the hotel staff. After all, you are not the only guest they have to handle. You also find it easier to manage your life if you adopt such an approach.

A recent story was covered by the BBC that shows just how much of a community spirit exists in this historic Cornish town. A lifeboat dedicated to Ollie Naismith from Looe has already saved over 10 lives since it entered service in 2010. It goes to show that even in the most trying and difficult circumstances, good can emerge. This kind of spirit can be found throughout Looe which is why it is such a good place to visit.

There are so many hotels to stay in Looe that it is difficult to pick a favourite which is why this blog sometimes changes opinion from year to year. Like anything, the quality of hotels in Looe can dip and rise, just like any business. This year one of the strongest rises has been that of the Barclay House Hotel. Situated on the edge of Looe overlooking East Looe river valley, the Barclay offers unparalleled views of the town and surrounding countryside. The building itself has been carved out of the hillside and gives the illusion of being in the middle of nowhere – yet it is only a five minute walk to the centre of town, the harbour and much more.

The rooms are well furnished and have all the mod cons that you expect from a hotel including a flat screen tv, en suite bathroom, large windows allowing lots of natural light through and room service. However it is the holiday cottages that are also located on the grounds of the main hotel that are really enticing. Essentially a home away from home, they have large living and dining rooms and fully equipped kitchens available for families or couples all year round. If you’re after secluded self catering accommodation within spitting distance of the town then these cottages are definitely for you.

Broadband internet is also available throughout the complex, though if you’re looking for roaming worldwide coverage then it may be advisable to bring your own dongle as the connection speeds available are quite slow. Nevertheless having broadband access is an expected standard even if it’s not the best.

A state of the art gym and sauna is available for guests who are looking to keep fit as well as enjoy themselves whilst visiting. The restaurant is well designed and boasts excellent food. Considering Barclay has received several awards from both the Good Hotel Guide and the AA in recent years, it is not surprising that everything is almost perfect.

If you do visit Looe this summer and have a bit of extra money to spend, then the Barclay House Hotel is definitely where you should base yourself for a visit.

It could have been an absolute disaster for a couple of friends of mine this year when their caravan burnt down in an accidental electrical fire.

Apparently a couple of old wires got crossed and the resulting spark hit a bit of flammable material, and before either of them knew what was happening the whole caravan went up in flames.

Luckily they both escaped unhurt, and managed to grab their most precious possessions – family photographs etc – before jumping out of the van. Neighbours on the caravan park put them up for the night, and although of course it was a horrific and a terrifying experience, it was not an absolute disaster because they had the foresight to have caravan insurance.

Their caravan was sited just outside of the charming Cornish village of Looe, and their insurance paid for them to stay in a hotel in Looe for the rest of their holiday, as well as covering the costs of replacing their static caravan. So all was not lost, and my friends were pretty accepting of their fate as they took their pick of the great choice of hotels in the town.

They had spent many holidays in their caravan, so they know this lovely Cornish area quite well. Of course, normally they would have to drive or walk in from the caravan park, so this horrible accident actually allowed them to enjoy the experience of holidaying in the centre of town.

They chose a hotel on the harbour front, just for the unusual setting. In the mornings they could watch the fishermen setting off for their working day, and during the afternoons they could enjoy seeing the tourists buzzing around the harbour. And, of course, they were right on hand for the great restaurants of this wonderful village.

Having caravan insurance meant that they were rescued from a disaster to a real holiday

The summer vacations are arriving at an end and whether or not they have been a necessary rest or a demanding few weeks, it will just about all be over shortly. Nevertheless, despite this you are able to still find some good places to go to right here in the UK regardless of whether you are with limited funds or are able to sprinkle the cash a little bit.

No matter what your financial situations are these locations are great to go to and offer a great combination of fun and pursuits for all the family in addition to some spectacular scenery to savor. There are many locations throughout the United Kingdom so selecting one in your area will reduce travel costs. Listed here are two of the very popular locations.

 North-West: Northumberland

Northumberland is definitely an interesting spot to visit as it provides a lot of historic importance to the United Kingdom. It had been the most northern point in the Roman Empire and Hadrian’s Wall continues to be a popular place of interest for many visitors. The wall is actually a verified world heritage site and it is interesting for kids to visit, particularly as many students study the Romans in classes.

Northumberland is provided with less rainfall compared to other popular locations such as Lake Area, therefore although it is definitely better to visit the region when the sunshine is shining, you are able to still wrap up and revel in the sights of Northumberland.

There is certainly an array of lodging in the area therefore according to your budget you are able to either remain in one of the traditional designed bed and breakfasts or visit more upmarket and vacation in the one in the wonderful five star hotels which can be found.

 The Midlands: The Peak District

The Peak District is frequented by many vacationers each year as the varied mix of great surroundings and pursuits such as rock climbing, cycling and several other adventure activities make it an ideal spot to proceed. There are many things to do and find out for all the loved ones. If you are an active person you cannot go wrong right here as you won’t ever get bored from the actions being offered.

On the other hand, you are able to take a more enjoyable, tranquil route round the Peak District having a walk through the caves, round the nature parks or wildlife recreational areas. You can also journey back in time having a trip on a steam engine.

Where ever you choose to go to make sure you enjoy the family. Stay with a budget to make sure you do not invest too much and revel in the sights in the United Kingdom. After your holiday is over you will be more refreshed and up to dealing with things like going back to work and managing hr software from octopus HR.

As much as I can find every reason for us to stay in this country and not travel abroad, not only because it can be of benefit to my business but because I truly believe that there is so much to discover just on our doorsteps. This summer however I have taken a trip abroad! Most of my friends are shocked but I thought it was time for me to experience something a little bit more exciting this year. What I decided to opt for was kenya safari holidays in which I was able to do a discovery channel style visit to this wonderful part of the world. As much as I can wax lyrical about Looe and everything it has to offer as a result, which I won’t be going back on by the way, but this trip was out of this world. For around three to four hundred dollars per person you can get a fully organised safari trip. We visited the park of Amboseli, which our guide told us was relatively small in comparison to some of the others but is situated North West of Mount Kilimanjaro. First of all seeing this famous mountain with my own eyes was really quite breathtaking, if you think you’ve seen mountains you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen this. In this park alone there are apparently over fifty-three different species. I did get to see elephants, which was dream come true. In addition to this I also saw cheetahs and giraffes in their natural habitat, something we’ll never be able to experience in the UK.

In reality, not everyone has visited Looe but the number of people who visit this wonderful location has really increased over the years. Looe in Cornwall is fast becoming a tourist destination for both young and old. It seems a number of vacationists are beginning to realise that there are many other locations around the world that are yet to be exploited. They have continually made efforts to shift direction from the very popular destinations that are sometimes outrageously expensive. Some of the popular locations tourists travel to have nothing spectacular about them but turn out to be very expensive trips. While checking the internet for information on hr software uk, I also came to understand that vacationers especially the older ones have started taking a preference for more serene environments.

Life in Looe can be very serene and can as well be a complete breakaway from the hustle and bustle of high city life. There are so many other aspects of life to savour at this ancient town. The reputation of the local restaurants keeps soaring; they offer a variety of see food that is worth trying out. Personally, visiting Looe without tasting one of the numerous sea food dishes is an incomplete tour of the town. Looe is also reputed to be the capital of Shark fishing in England while another popular activity available to the pleasure of tourists is sailing races which is hosted from time to time in the town. There is really nothing anybody can say that will portray Looe the right way. This means you cannot know what the town has got to offer without planning and spending your vacation there.

With summer just around the corner, its the best time to take a vacation! This time, instead of heading to tourist hubs like Miami, Bangkok or London, why not think of spending some time in a small town with a quiet countryside? Like the idea? Then head to Looe!
Looe is a seaside town and fishing harbour in Cornwall, UK. It is divided into East and West zones with the Looe River flowing in between and a bridge joining the two sides. There are several cheap flights from all parts of Europe to this breathtakingly beautiful vacation spot! If you want to spend some quiet time with your family or your spouse then West Looe will be more to your liking. If sandy beaches and fishing with friends is more your kind of thing, then nothing beats East Looe.
Looe is famous for the picturesque St. George’s Island or more commonly known as Looe Island. You can take a boat trip with your friends and family, or even head out alone and feel the cool sea breeze in your hair. If you want to stay on land then you can take sightseeing tours to many of the state homes on the island.
As for accommodation, there are plenty of hotels and guest houses that offer personalized attention and unmatched hospitality to each guest. If you happen to plan a trip around New Year’s Eve, you will be able to take part in their famous fancy dress festival which is sure to perk you up! The food here is amazing and you shouldn’t miss out on the delectable Cornish pastries! So don’t waste any more time, head to Looe to have the best summer ever!
